Jupiter

Jupiter is a 51’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 1989 by Peter Nicholls. She was last blacked and fully repainted in 2023, as well as having an insurance survey carried out the same year, and is well presented for sale.

She is fitted out in sapele tongue and groove throughout, with bamboo flooring in the bathroom and carpet elsewhere, creating a traditional and cosy feel through the boat.

The cratch covered well deck (with wooden cratch board and Francis fire-engine lamp) is comfortable at 4’7”. There is a storage chest and a range of  traditional canalia painted with the boats name, and the stainless steel water tank is housed below.

Steps lead down, through glazed forward doors and glazed bulkheads, into the 10’10” saloon. Here are 2 comfortable captains swivel chairs, with ottoman footstools, a solid fuel stove, gateleg folding table, 240v TV and sound bar, and storage under the well deck accessed from the saloon.

A 2 stool breakfast bar acts as a divide, before entering the 8’6” galley. Here is a 12v Shoreline fridge with icebox, New World 4 burner gas hob, oven & grill, solid oak worktops, a composite sink, and a range of cupboards for storage.

Next is the 5’10” bathroom, with a hip bath with shower over and curtain across, ceramic counter sunk wash basin, and a ceramic bowl pumpout toilet. Another cupboard and a medicine cabinet provide ample storage.

The bedroom is 9’7” with a fixed 6’1” x 4’0” double berth, a large full height double wardrobe, and a bookshelf with reading lights over the head end of the bed.

A step leads into the 3’8” engine room, with the Thorneycroft engine housed below. This was serviced last in 2023, but cruised little since. Another step leads out onto the stern deck.

She is centrally heated by an Alde Comfort 2920 gas boiler connected to 2 radiators and fin rads. Hot water is heated by the engine and the Alde.

12v power is provided by 3 domestics with a separate starter. 240v power is via a Victron 1kva inverter/charger, or landline hookup.

Lighting on board is LED throughout.

She is a charming boat, ready for immediate cruising.
